Love Girls Magazine - Because Every Girl Has A Story

Gabrielle Jordan: A Young Entrepreneur

Lauren Morris

Jordan founded her own jewelry company, Jewelz of Jordan, in 2009, when she was just 9 years-old. She remembers watching YouTube videos on how to make jewelry. It was hard work and dedication that allowed her to take her dream so far. She's always thinking of creative ideas and styles for her jewelry.

As her business was blossoming, Jordan decided she wanted to share her story. Two years after founding Jewelz of Jordan, she wrote and published, "The Making of a Young Entrepreneur: A Kid's Guide to Developing the Mind-Set for Success." It is nationally recognized and a #1 Amazon Bestselling book.

Through her natural gift of public speaking and her book, she inspires children and adults alike, and motivates them into believing that they are of value to the world. "It's a truly priceless thing to go after your dreams," she says, "I wanted to share my book, travel around the world and connect with other people – not just kids.

"I love what I do. I help people move forward in their lives and it's very rewarding. I'm homeschooled. So, in the morning I'm doing schoolwork, and I do my business work in the evenings."

Much like the overall mission of the magazine, she values her success and wants to empower others. So, she uses her voice to speak to and strengthen those around her. She shares, "Whether I'm speaking to a group of young adults at an event, helping a woman find the right piece of jewelry, sharing my book, or supporting my favorite charities, I believe I am empowering people to make a difference in their lives and in others."

The most influential person in Jordan's life is her mother. "She's my manager and everything I know so far about business comes from her." Having the support and encouragement of her family is just one of the many things that keep her going.

Her best advice came from her dad through a poem. "He shared a poem with me called, 'If You Think You Can,' it was about making sure that you believe you can achieve your goals. If you don't have the right mindset, you most likely won't be able to do it."

Jordan knows that mental struggles are just as powerful as physical ones. She has three tips for young girls:
1: Young girls must do research. Study and learn about the thing you want to pursue
2: Get a mentor. It's imperative that you get a mentor or someone to teach you what you need to know so you can succeed.
3: Use your passion, determination, and even the dream killers to fuel you and keep you going.
